Time to get away from pelicans, I think!
Since the cold damp of late winter has given way to warmer and drier spring, I’ve been resuming my walks in London. And something I’ve noticed is that there are some places I go where any street scene has the towers of Canary Wharf popping up. You can see that in three of the pictures I chose from last year in the final post from 2024. They loom over the scene, even from a distance. Having noticed this, I’ve started incorporating them as background elements deliberately, quite aside from the fact that occasionally, they cannot be avoided. To illustrate all this, here are three pictures from recent potters.
Cormorant breeding platform, Canada Water
Delivery cyclist and spring blossom, Limehouse Causeway. (Delivery cyclists are becoming a bit of another theme too as they are characteristic of our time.)
