In memoriam, on the 20th Anniversary of 9/11
I recently discovered that I have three Kodachrome 64 slides taken from the back of a ferry in New York Harbor on my first visit to NYC in October 1983. To my surprise they overlap with each other enough to stitch the scans together in Lightroom to make a complete panorama.
The picture shows the Hudson River on the left, with the Empire State Building showing above the Manhattan riverside. In the middle is lower Manhattan. On the right is the East River with the Brooklyn Bridge visible too.
The Twin Towers of the World Trade Center dominate the scene.
Such a desperately sad anniversary.
